FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does ROVA stand for?

ROVA incorporates multiple elements that refer to the road: it’s a combination of the words ‘Road’ and ‘Vacation’; it includes those all-important letters—RV; and a ‘rover’ is someone who travels consistently. We think it pretty perfectly sums up what we’re all about!

What do you guys know about road-tripping?

Our editor, Gemma, has been on and off the road for her whole life, including six months as an infant traveling Europe in a VW bus (with her parents; she’s resourceful, but not resourceful enough to drive a van at one year of age); a childhood spent adventuring around the Australian outback and circumnavigating the country in a Jayco Songbird trailer (again, with family); a 6,000-mile RV odyssey in the United States in a decrepit Class C motorhome with her husband; and a couple of months in an RV in New Zealand with her husband and her parents (!).

Our staffers are all well-versed in US travel, having been on a huge variety of road-trip adventures between them, and they have a lot of love for this lifestyle.

We at ROVA are also constantly learning from our community; the stories you tell us help us to showcase this lifestyle in all of its grit and glory.

How often is ROVA published?

Currently, ROVA is released six times per year, in February, April, June, August, October and December.

Where can I find ROVA?

ROVA is available for purchase at numerous bookstores and newsstands around the country, including Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Chapters and Indigo, Kroger and Ralph’s supermarkets, and many other independent booksellers and retailers. If you’d like to know about a location near you that stocks ROVA, please contact us.

How much does ROVA cost?

The price for a single edition is $8.95, but if you subscribe you’ll get it for a less (bargain!).

Who are your writers and photographers?

We have a huge (and growing) cohort of writers that make up the ROVA team. Some are professional writers or photographers; some are passionate road-adventurers who want to tell their story. If you want to submit a story or photo essay idea, visit our contribute page.
