ROVA Adventure Forty, December/January 2023-2024
With more and more people jumping onto the road-trip wagon, it might feel like there are fewer places where you can be alone, or find something unique, or let your freak flag fly. But fear not, seekers of original adventures—there’s still plenty out there to discover.
In this issue of ROVA we delve a little deeper than the usual highway attractions. Anne Nagro introduces us to some giant trolls living in far-flung places; Grace Finnell-Gudwien explores America’s state parks and discovers plenty of beauty to rival that of the better-known national parks; Patrick Coleman looks at some of the new and intriguing features that RV manufacturers are adding to their 2024 lineups; and Bianca Dumas heads north of Salt Lake City to enjoy the comparatively unfamiliar ski slopes of North Salt Lake.
And that’s just the beginning; Joey Held takes us on a tour of Texas with a difference—all of the towns that he visits are named after European cities.
Abby Schwent shares her family’s journey to some Kansas sites that many people don’t know exist; Zach Moser does his Pennsylvania road-tripping on a motorcycle; and Maddie Hammond reveals why forgoing a traditional Christmas Day in favor of visiting Pinnacles National Park was an inspired idea.
