ROVA Adventure Forty-Two, April/May 2024
In this issue of ROVA, we celebrate doing things differently. It’s pretty easy in this community to find folks who are living an authentically individual life—it’s what we do, after all. Theresa Q. Tran takes her sons on the road to surf all over America; Kaylin Zittergruen gave up a career in teaching to learn her own lessons through van life; Stephen Moore combines his love of travel with his love of birdwatching; and Michelle Devereaux takes the time to appreciate the people we encounter on the road who help get us where we need to be.
Around the country, our writers have been enjoying off-the-beaten-path experiences, including exploring the lesser-known Washington State region of the Okanogan Highlands; healing heartbreak by visiting Yellowstone; discovering that state parks have just as much to offer as national parks in Arizona; eating a path through Wisconsin’s Door County; conquering fear in Georgia; and discovering the hidden gems of upstate Vermont.
Enjoy this issue, and remember to indulge the parts of you that want to shake things up a bit. Embrace your individuality, do the weird thing, live in a way that makes you authentically happy. A really good way to do that is by just getting on the road.
